Yuzuki Japanese Eatery in San Francisco to Host Sake Class
Yuzuki Japanese Eatery in San Francisco will host a sake class on Sunday, April 16 from 3:45 to 5:00 p.m. The class will be taught by Sake Sommelier and Yuzuki Sake Director Yoshihiro Sako and is priced at $55.00 per person. Advance purchase of tickets is required and this can be done via http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/2913598.
The class is titled "Sake Fundamentals and the Power of Koji" and will include a 40 minute lecture and a 30 minute tasting with appetizers. The lecture will address "misconceptions, how to pair sake with food, ideal serving temperatures, and how Koji is made."
A native of Japan, Sako developed a passion for sake while working in San Francisco. In 2008 he received his Kikisake (Sake Sommelier) license from the Sake Service Institute & Kikisake Guild. In the following year, he completed an apprenticeship working as a kurabito (brewer) at Kubota Shuzo in Kanagawa prefecture, Japan and still maintains many connections to Japanese breweries. In addition, he gained a knowledge of wine by working for 5 years as a buyer/manager for a sake and wine shop/bar.
Yuzuki Japanese Eatery is one of San Francisco's premier Japanese restaurants providing a sophisticated and nuanced dining experience. Among the restaurant's intriguing libations are select international wines, sakes and beers. Thirty kinds of sake are offered, an extraordinary number for a restaurant of this size. The unassuming ambiance and understated decor of the 49-seat Yuzuki dining room reflect a philosophy of affording diners a stage where the food is the star.
Yuzuki Japanese Eatery is located at 598 Guerrero Street, on the corner of 18th Street, in San Francisco, California. Dinner is served Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 6:00 to 10:30 p.m., Saturday, 5:30 to 10:30 p.m. and on Sunday from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. Neighborhood street parking is often an option.
