ABOUT THE ORGANIZATIONS:Â
Founded in 2010 by a three drag queens, Queens of the Castro (QOC) is a San Francisco based nonprofit with the mission of providing  mentorship and scholarships to LGBTQ+ youth, while raising awareness about the differences between gender and sexuality in high schools and universities. QOC works closely with Gay/Straight Aliances to organize assemblies in San Francisco high schools and last year, QOC awarded $20,000 in scholarships to youth pursuing college and vocational training. https://www.queensofthecastro.com
Harvey Milk Civil Rights Academy is a small alternative public school in SF’s Castro neighborhood and it’s named in honor of the Castro’s most revered civil rights leader : Harvey Milk!
