The Unified Festival is more than just your average poetry festival.
It's a festival packed with the hottest emcees, freshest poets, and dopest poetry slam teams coming up in the Bay!
Unified Festival will feature Youth Speaks three signature programs: Teen Poetry Slam, Unified Poetry Slam, and MC Olympics.
MC Olympics
The Bay's up-and-coming emcees will compete in MC Olympics, an olympic-style competition to highlight the best young rappers who can drop the hottest bars in multiple rounds.
Teen Poetry Slam
Over 100 young poets will slam it out in Teen Poetry Slam where individual poets compete to represent the Bay Area at Brave New Voices in Washington, D.C in July.
Unified Poetry Slam
Stretching over multiple slam bouts, 30 teams will compete in Unified Poetry Slam where they will take to the stage to speak truth to power and a chance to represent their school or organization.
Unified Festival will play out across multiple venues in downtown Oakland.
Each program will hold its own competition throughout the week of April 14th - April 18th; the schedule of bouts and venue locations will be released soon.

How much does it cost to attend? It's zero dollars! Prelims and semifinals are free and open to the public. Finals is $5 for youth 24 years old and younger and $10 for adults. All aspiring poets and those looking to be inspired welcomed.
