Your Planet is Going To Die. We are hosting a community open mic event to explore the current state of our planet, to grieve, bereave & honor what we've done, lost, love & stand to lose eventually... while we're still ALIVE on our precious pale blue dot.

Hosted by Chelsea Coleman at The Lost Church SF

Seating is first come, first served.

The ticket tiers are direct ways of offering more support to YG2D, a 501(c)3 Non-profit bringing diverse communities creatively into the conversation of death and dying, inspiring life by unabashedly sourcing our shared mortality.

Paired with our LA Climate Week show, we present a SPECIAL open mic event in SF, CENTERED ON THE TOPIC OF EARTH. Like usual, our open mic format serves as an opening to whatever you're carrying, whatever you long to be witnessed in. We invite you to attend, listen and share your stories and perspectives.

With large topics that affect so many people, it is common for folks to want to shrink from being the center of their own experience of a topic as big and weighty as THE ENTIRE PLANET, and focus on communal concern - concern for others, concern for future generations, etc. And while this collective concern & grief is SO REAL and very much welcome in this space, we're also inviting you to take up space ON STAGE expressing yourself about how the precarity of our planetary existence affects YOU. We're not trying to attain some kind of fairness equilibrium here! This applies to grief in general, but especially to global concerns: someone always has it worse, and someone always has it better! This show is for everyone. Whether you lost your house in a fire or your childhood home in a hurricane, or you are anxious about things that haven't happened yet, or you're inspired and hopeful and want to celebrate the good things, or you want some space to RAGE about the preventable devastation that is is not being prevented, etc, this show is for you. If you are alive right now, you have every right to take up space talking about your grief and fear, hope and anxiety, resilience and anger related to our planet's trajectory!

Just like mortality itself... no one is exempt! There is no one who doesn't belong in this conversation.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sign-ups will be the night of & the list fills up quickly, so if you want to perform, you'd better get there early...

If you're going to perform, keep it under 5 MINUTES. That's right: 5 MINUTES. We will time you!

You are invited to bring the full spectrum of your humanness, be it through poetry, prose, music, improvised storytelling, dancing, comedy, drama, happy, sad, & on & on & on... It's up to you! We don't have the answers!

You don't have to perform anything; the audience is as essential as the performers.

Please don't perform anything with a setup that takes much more time than the time it takes for you to walk onstage! There will be a piano and an acoustic guitar available on stage for you.

IMPORTANT ::: DON'T TAKE YOURSELF SO SERIOUSLY. Come and have fun. The end. Remember. Someday, we won't exist and neither will the English language. If you choose to take yourself seriously, then take yourself so seriously that it's stupid. Ridiculousness is encouraged.

Your Planet is going to die. No. Really. It is.
