In this collaborative experience we set out to create a space where we can express ourselves through our voice in relationship with others in a way that feels pleasurable somatically, emotionally, and relationally. You're invited to bring care & presence and acceptance that there might be awkwardness. We'll try to celebrate that as best as we can.
Some questions we will explore include: Can you experience the pleasure of making sounds with your voice down to your bones? Authentic sounding - What sounds emerge from deep inside our body when we dive into letting ourselves be moved? What sounds want to emerge from touch? What does our body sound like when we dance? What might it feel like to experience the joy of creating music that anyone can sing, in the moment, together as a group? What does it feel like to speak from the heart, listen to what wants to be said, and savor silence?
Klaus' somatic practices include contact & vocal improvisation. Part of why he practices improvisation is to cultivate curiosity over ambition, be with awkwardness, and find joy & playfulness in the moment; some days that works better than others. He is influenced by the work of many wonderful people such as Bobby McFerrin, Benoît Lachambre, Nita Little, Carmen Serber, and... his desk job. He likes having plenty of time & space to start slowly and hopes to be able to share some of his excitement for moving in alignment with the felt sense and curiously witnessing what emerges from that with you.
