World Premiere of Nobody Dies
With Todd Krolczyk and Jamie Redford
Catch the world premiere of Nobody Dies, a CAAM-funded documentary about acclaimed musician Thao Nguyen of indie folk rock group Thao & the Get Down Stay Down. Filmmaker Todd Krolczyk follows Thao and her mother as they visit Vietnam, a first for both: Thao’s first time in the country and her mother’s first time since the Vietnam War. As Thao explores her parents’ home country, she experiences a deeper understanding of the cultural influences that shaped her family, its influence on her music and her relationship with her mother.
The screening will be followed by a conversation with Thao and Director Todd Krolczyk, moderated by Jamie Redford, documentary filmmaker and board chair of the Redford Center, plus a special acoustic performance. Nobody Dies will broadcast on PBS this fall.
