Women's Action Plan Forum

Now that the marches have ended, a lot of us are left asking ourselves, "Now What?". 
There is no one that will simply give us the  answer - we have to come up with the next steps for ourselves! If you are someone who is looking to find more ways to support women, want to make an impact in the community, enjoy networking with other passionate women, love making strategies and action plans, and want to continue fighting for the rights of all people - join us on International Women's Day!
5:30-6:00: Networking. Food and Beverage will be provided.6:00-6:45: Panel of women that are experts and leaders in the social sector.6:45-7:45: Breakout Sessions! You and a small group wlll work together to create an Action Plan related to women in one of the above social sectors; focusing on making the world a more free, equal, and safe place for everyone. 7:45-8:00: A speaker from each group will present their plan to everyone! GIVDO will collect all plans in the end and disperse to the  community so that everyone can participate in the future and your ideas can become a reality!
Panelists:
Kara Zordel: Executive Director of Project Homeless Connect SF. Kara has created programming for UNICEF Tanzania, managed a large family shelter in the South Bronx, piloted a homeless eviction prevention program which is now an award winning national model, and created the first supportive housing of its kind in NY City.
Tara Medve: Development & Communications Director of the Women’s Community Clinic. Tara has led the Clinic’s fundraising and marketing efforts since 2009. Her passion and commitment to social justice and reproductive freedom drive her work at the Clinic and in the community.
Ashley Raveche: President of the League of Women Voters of San Francisco! Under her tenure, the League was awarded the HERO Award from the Mayor for contributions made to voting rights. Ashley is passionate about providing greater access to unbiased, accurate voting materials in order for voters to make informed decisions. Ashley empowers women to drive positive change in their community.
Molly Wertz: Executive Director of Tandem, Partners in Early Learning.  Molly facilitated the National Intermediary Project, which brought together teams of local business, government, education and the nonprofit leaders with their peers from around the country to prioritize, plan and implement community wide programs to ensure success for all youth. 
Jessica Lobedan: Director of Community Relations of NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness). Jessica is dedicated to reducing and eliminating the stigmatization of mental illness through public education, increased accessibility to culturally appropriate treatment, and systems reform.
Mallory Casperson: Founder & Executive Director of Lacuna Loft. Applying her love for engineering and technology to her nonprofit endeavor, Lacuna Loft offers online support programs and resources are provided to young adult cancer survivors and caregivers in the comfort of their own homes.

All Proceeds from this event will support Simply the Basics' programs. Simply the Basics helps women meet their most basic needs, such as hygiene, job readiness, health, and dignity, so that they may focus on greater goals. You can learn more about our organization here.
