Women Talk Design Speaking Workshop - Application deadline

In this workshop, we'll provide new speakers with the framework and confidence to begin crafting their first talk. Learn where to start, understand why storytelling is important and how to use it in your talk, and begin drafting an outline of a short talk. You'll have a chance to work on your talk in a safe, supportive environment and get feedback on your ideas along the way. Learn how to present with confidence and get practice delivering your talk.

Please note: pre-work reading will be provided upon registration. Attendees should complete reading and come to class with 1-2 potential talk topics (1-2 hours) You will have homework to complete in between sessions.

You will leave the workshop with:

> A framework for crafting a compelling talk
> An understanding of the elements of storytelling
> A draft of a 5 min talk and resources on how to expand it depending on length of talk
> Tips for feeling confident on stage
> An opportunity to present at our October 23rd LightningTalks event
> A new supportive network
> Resources for continued reading and exploration

October 2nd - Introduction to public speaking
October 9th - Using storytelling to craft your talk
October 16th - Deliver with confidence
October 28th - Present your talk at WTD Lightning Talks (Optional)
