THIS EVENT HAS ENDED
In partnership with Bike East Bay, the Oakland Public Library is co-hosting the Women Bike Book Club in 2017! Bike East Bay's Women Bike program enters its second year of bringing women and gender nonconforming folks together in social settings to share experiences and resources with each other.

Everyone is invited to discuss biking, feminism, and the intersection of the two. Join us on the second Thursday of each month at 6:00pm. We'll focus on a different book or film each month, with a few guest speakers and activities along the way.

Our first meeting will be Thursday, January 12 at the Rockridge Branch, when we'll talk about On Bicycles: 50 ways the new bike culture can change your life, by Momentum Magazine editor and creator Amy Walker. Stop by the reference desk at Rockridge or Main to pick up a copy, or read the ebook (for free!) via Hoopla.

We'll also have sheets from Ms. Walker's new coloring book, featuring her original drawings of bikes and bike riders.

Save the date(s) for upcoming meetings of the Women Bike Book Club: February 9 and March 9 at Rockridge, and April 13, May 11 & June 8 at the Main Library. Stay tuned for future titles, and locations for the second half of 2017!
