Wise Leadership in the 21st Century

SEE EVENT DETAILS
Wise Leadership in the 21st Century
The contribution of women and men in an era shifting towards the feminine
Join us… men and women
On Friday February 23rd, a delegation of wise women leaders from Europe representing four decades and four cultures will be in San Francisco for the annual Wisdom 2.0 Summit.  The women are all founding members of the Network for Transformational Leaders, and as such are known as the Transformational Divas.  Their differing professions in law, speaking, branding, government consultation, entertainment and wellbeing connect them with leaders around the globe. On Friday evening, after the second day of the Summit, a dinner event is offered with an important conversation about leadership in the new paradigm.

Gina Lazenby, Runa Magnus, Monique Blokzyl and Shay Allie each come from countries where their Prime Ministers are women: Iceland, Germany and the UK. They want to share their insights about the contribution women are increasingly making in politics and business and the difficulties these country leaders can have in getting their message across. In a media environment created and often led by men who are used to seeing the masculine expression of leadership, being understood as a woman can be much more difficult. So many women who emphasise empathy, listening and relationship building can be accused of being indecisive as they canvas a wide of voices for opinions. That desire to listen can in itself can be seen as a weakness.

How can men adapt their leadership to embrace feminine values?

How do men and women have to change in their leadership as we approach the third decade of the new millennium?

How can women harmonise their masculine drive with their innate femininity?

Is leadership itself inherently masculine?

Do you need to fight like a man to be a respected leader?

A lively conversation between men and women … join us if you want to hear stories from Europe and share your perspectives for how leadership is changing.  The headline of the latest issue of the New Statesman, the British political magazine,  says, 100 years after being given the vote “How women took power”.
