Growing up in San Francisco, I know that love is always in this City! In honor of the historic decision made twenty years ago to issue same sex marriage licenses by then Mayor Gavin Newsom, despite brewing legal challenges and limitations. While the 20th anniversary falls on Monday, February 12, we are holding a celebration to officially welcome hundreds of couples to City Hall on Valentine's Day to symbolize just how much love we have to give.
All couples, specifically same-sex couples interested to help mark the occasion and ready to tie the knot, can come down to City Hall and make it official with us! Annually on Valentine's Day, City Hall hosts hundreds of marriage ceremonies to celebrate the day of love, and we hope you can join us.
