Why Not? Lessons on Comedy, Courage and Chutzpah with Mark Schiff

SEE EVENT DETAILS
While the world may seem like a frightening place right now, we believe that humor can be a powerful tool to unite, heal and bring solace. Laughter, they say, is the best medicine-it transcends boundaries, providing a brief escape from the grim realities of war. In that spirit, Mark Schiff will take the stage to weave tales, spin jokes and share his unique perspective, all with the aim of uplifting our spirits. We hope this event will serve as a reminder that even in the darkest of times, we can find strength, comfort, connection and a moment of respite.

Jerry Seinfeld has called Mark Schiff "one of the funniest, brightest and best stage comedians I have ever seen."

Mark's stand-up comedy landed him on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and Late Night with David Letterman and won him critical acclaim for his HBO and Showtime specials. However, as he was performing, writing and guest starring on TV shows like NBC's Mad About You, Mark was struggling with a sense of belonging.

In his deeply human and funny new book, Why Not? Lessons on Comedy, Courage, and Chutzpah (Apollo Publishers, 2022), Mark shares his journey growing up without a community to discovering the comedy scenes in New York and Los Angeles, and, ultimately, getting the last laugh by finding his self-worth and purpose in LA's Jewish community.

Books will be available for purchase at the event. Drinks and light refreshments will also be available for purchase at the venue.
