Join Mike Lewis and Sheryl Sandberg discussing "When to Jump," Mike's book that lays out the "Jump Curve," four steps to pursuing the career of your dreams.
When Mike was 24, he held a prestigious corporate job. He wanted to be a professional squash player but had questions: When is the right time to move from work that is comfortable to a career you have only dreamt of? How have other people made such a jump? What did they feel when making the jump--and after?
Mike sought guidance from others who had "jumped," and the responses he got were so inspiring that he wanted to share them. First, though, he started playing squash professionally.
"When to Jump" offers more than 40 stories (from the founder of Bonobos, the author of "The Big Short," the designer of the Lyft logo, the Humans of New York creator and more) and takeaways that will inspire, instruct and reassure, including the four-phase Jump Curve.
Mike worked at Bain Capital before chasing his dream to play professional squash. He is the founder and CEO of When to Jump, a global community of people who have left one path to pursue a very different one. "When to Jump" is Mike's first book.
Sheryl Sandberg is COO at Facebook, overseeing the firm's business operations. She is the co-author of "Option B: Facing Adversity, Building Resilience, and Finding Joy" with Adam Grant as well as the author of the bestsellers "Lean In: Women, Work, and the Will to Lead" and "Lean In for Graduates." She is the founder of the Sheryl Sandberg & Dave Goldberg Family Foundation, a nonprofit organization that works to build a more equal and resilient world through two key initiatives, LeanIn.Org and OptionB.Org.
Each ticket includes a copy of "When to Jump." Additional copies will be available for sale at the event. In partnership with Books Inc. Palo Alto.
