When School Hurts

Despite the best intentions of parents and educators, for students with learning differences school can be beset with failures and fears that erode self esteem and make learning even harder. John Fleming, M.Ed., BCET, describes how the cycle of disappointing experiences and diminishing self image traumatizes the learner, impedes further learning and then reinforces the sense of suffering and defeat. This presentation will help you identify how your child or student responds to triggers, the feelings and behaviors they express and how learning is affected.
