Walk to Woke: Intuition Walk + Pie!

SEE EVENT DETAILS
All I want to do when I grow up is create transformative walking journeys for culture makers?—?artists, authors, musicians, coders, tinkerers, scientists, therapists – all students of the mind. If you make and care that what you make enhances the well-being of humans, this is for you.
Why this mix? Because you are my people. I am one of you. You have shaped my thinking and I hope to shape yours.
Here's the deal – let's meet in Dolores Park. All you need to do is show up with comfortable walking shoes on. I'll  send you all out on the first exercise in the series.
All of these dates included in this invite will do exercise #1: Notice what your're drawn to.
For the full hour you'll follow your gut. If it is drawn to turn left, your assignment is to turn left. If it says go straight, you'll go straight. In this seemingly simple process, all sorts of surprising things come up. It's much harder than you might think. You might be surprised to find that you've never given yourself a full hour to do precisely what your instincts tell you. All sorts of fascinating voices pop up in our inner monologues and get in the way.
We'll get back together, have pie and compare notes on what came up for each of us. You'll be free to share as much or as little as you like. I'm not going to call anyone out and make them talk.
Why walking? Walks are an integral part of many creatives' process. I’ve been doing walks with the explicit purpose of building my gut instinct/intuition for at least five years now, and it’s changed me in ways I never could’ve predicted. Since I signed up to follow my intuition wherever it takes me, it’s been a breathtakingly wild ride that’s led me to put a Shaolin monk into an underwater virtual reality meditation, to volunteer during three months of monsoon season in Cambodia, and to wander barefoot around SF’s Chinatown for four hours. Don’t worry, I’m not going to make you do any of those things. However, I expect you following your own gut will lead to equally bizarre and wonderful stories. I sincerely look forward to hearing them.
Why pie? Do you have to ask? :D Seriously though, the Danes, the happiest nation on earth, have a saying that goes "eat cake with friends." After doing some cognitive work, I'm going to reward your body and brain with some super yummy treats. GF Vegan options will be available.
