Wakefield

SEE EVENT DETAILS
Oct 5-14: Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm, Sundays at 2pm

Wakefield, a play with live music, was inspired by a short story of the same name by Nathaniel Hawthorne. In it the title character tells his wife that he is leaving for a two- or three-day business trip, but instead he disappears for 20 years. The story ends at the moment when Wakefield, much to his and his wife's surprise, walks in through the front door.

Wakefield, the new play by Brian Thorstenson and directed by Erin Mei-Ling Stuart, begins where Hawthorne's story ends. It's an investigation of time, place, truth and the bonds of love. The play stars Anne Darragh and Brian Thorstenson performing alongside Bruce Belton on clarinet.
