Techtonica is holding a series of introductory HTML, CSS & JavaScript workshops that serve as both community events and the entry point to the application process for our 6-month Apprenticeship program.
Our Apprenticeship Program gives local woman and non-binary people in need the opportunity to transition to careers in software engineering.
We're seeking volunteers from all backgrounds and identities to help facilitate our 5-hour JavaScript workshop, where we'll cover basics like strings, arrays, for loops and conditional statements. Location TBD (either Oakland or SF). The workshop runs from 10am - 3pm, and volunteers are needed before, during and after the workshops.
During the workshop, you'll answer questions participants have about basic JavaScript, maybe talk about your own involvement with technology or coding, and help Techtonica staff make special note of which attendees show enthusiasm, perseverance and effective communication skills.
There will be photography and videography at this event. By registering, you give Techtonica permission to use images or videos that may include you. You will be asked to sign a media release at the beginning of the workshop.
We hope to see you there!
