Ninjaz of Drama returns to the Phoenix Annex Theatre with new short plays by San Francisco actor-playwright Rey Carolino with his comic views on lovers, actors, and other fools along with some old favorites performed by Bay Area talents Naseem Etemad, Paul Wong, Sarah Leight, Cristal McLaughlin, Christine Kim and Ninjaz of Drama regulars Federico Edwards, Kristen Matia, Ted Speros, Pam Mangan, Fabien Ferhani. BUDDY BING
New Orleans circa 1957. A hot and steamy evening in the French Quarter sees two entertainers Buddy and Bing examining both a creative and personal mid-life crisis as Buddy prepares to tour Europe and Bing feeling her career stalled as the only gig she has is as the understudy in a play. BON VOYAGE CHARON AND SHARON
Charon, the mythological Ferryman of Hades drawn by a false promise of a trip to the Elysium Fields by the conniving prankster Hermes is set upon a crowded cruise liner filled with mortals on the prowl. Charon finds himself pursued by the vile and questionable mortal woman- Sharon of Bernal Heights. With Paul Wong and Pam Mangan. Directed by Ted Speros.

MY OWN UNIQUE RADIO SHOW

ABOUT THE PLAYWRIGHT
Rey Carolino began training as both actor and playwright in 1990 and had performed in numerous plays and musicals during ten years of prolonged theatrical study and performance at the Theatre Arts Dept of City College of San Francisco and other Bay Area venues. The next decade he began to write more extensively creating four two-act and ten one-act dramatic plays which prompted him to segue into directing and producing live performance of these works that focused on the exploration of this, our complicated and mutual humanity. Beginning in 2006 and afterwards he began writing comedies and directing Shakespeare productions and after the crash of 2008 saw him penning light hearted comedies for young people and adults but always returning to ponder and engage in expressing on paper the more somber, whimsical side of ourselves.
