The USS Hornet will conduct a ceremony thanking our Veterans on Veteran's Day. We will also have a special exhibit created by the Walking Ghosts of Black History featuring the biographies of prominent African-American female firsts in America's military and a special tribute to the former Secretary of State Colin Powell (including an honor guard). Exhibition open all day.
The ceremony will start promptly at 11 AM in the Hangar Bay. Veterans will be allowed onto the ship for free.
Special guests include Mayor Ezzy Ashcraft (Alameda), Rear Admiral Penoyer (Alameda Coast Guard Station) and Supervisor Richard Valle.
