Valentine's Day Celebration at Homestead
On Valentine's Day, Sunday, February 14, Homestead in Oakland will be open from 5:00 to 10:00 PM serving a $100.00 service-included four-course prix fixe menu with an amuse bouche of foie gourger followed by a Marin Miyagi oyster with domestic caviar, hamachi tartare, olives, capers, sieved egg and potato chips; marrow-salt baked shrimp and salt and pepper pork ribs with butter lettuce, mint, basil, kimchi slaw, ponzu and hearts of palm; grilled ribeye steak and seared tuna with artichoke, fingerling potatoes, black truffle, and hollandaise sauce; and a selection of sweets with an ice cream sandwich, financier, truffles and a cream puff. There will be a vegetarian alternative and common dietary restrictions can be accommodated. An optional by-the-glass wine pairing will be offered for an additional $65.00 inclusive of service. Among other highlighted libations will be half and full bottles of Champagne and sparkling wine. Dinner will be silverware-optional because the menu is comprised of finger food designed to make for a fun and interactive dining experience. Hand wipes and napkins will be available in abundance. The restaurant will be festively decorated in the spirit of the occasion. On Friday, February 12 and Saturday, February 13, in addition to the regular a la carte menu, there will be specials such as prime rib for two and whole roasted snapper for two. All prices exclude tax.
