USC vs Ohio State Cotton Bowl Game Watch Party

SEE EVENT DETAILS

Join your fellow SF Trojans on Saturday, Dec. 29 as the #8 USC Trojans take on the #5 Ohio State Buckeyes in the legendary Cotton Bowl. Kickoff for the New Years Six matchup begins shortly after 5:30 p.m.

Hot off the heels of our Pac-12 Championship victory, USC is looking to close out its season with a definitive win that will prove our boys can rumble and demolish anyone that comes our way.

The SF Alumni Club is here to help you celebrate the New Year and our successful season with a festive and lively Game Watch party that you won’t want to miss. Get ready to mix, mingle and cheer with other Trojans fans from around the bay. It's going to be a blast.

Wondering what the heck a Cotton Bowl is? Think of it as a Rose Bowl that found itself lost in Texas. Every year the winningest teams in college football play special postseason bowl games against similarly ranked competitors. But not all bowl games are created equal. Historically, six bowl games played close to New Years have drawn the best teams and the largest national audiences. Of course USC's birthright New Years Six game is the Rose Bowl, which usually pits the Pac-12 Champion against the winner of the Big 10. But this year, pretenders in the College Football Playoff semifinals are occupying our Rose Bowl stadium in Pasadena. Out of respect for tradition, the selection committee has arranged for the Pac-12 and Big 10 leaders to meet each other at the Cotton Bowl, another member of the New Years Six. The game may be at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas but the competition and national rivalry is sure to be just as intense.

Our game-watch location is Mayes Oyster House, 1233 Polk St., between Sutter and Bush.

Mayes’ delicious SCpecials include:

- $1 Oysters
- $3 Basket of French Fries
- $.50 Chicken Wings
- $1 Discount on all Happy Hour Beers
- $20 Corona or Bud Light Buckets
- and other Game Day SCpecials

Street parking is typically available on Bush Street between Franklin and Polk and for $3 an hour, you can park at Laz Parking on 1399 Bust St. until 2:30am.

Please RSVP. See you there before kickoff.
