Join Modern Picnic, Hydrow and Ora for a special evening dedicated to discussions on nutrition, superfoods and building a healthy lifestyle. Get advice and hear personal food journeys from founders of Modern Picnic and Ora, as well as a trainer and nationally ranked Triathlete from Hydrow on their successes (and failures) in developing a nutrition routine to fit their lifestyle. Bring your notebook and questions!
Protein bites will be provided by Ora and kombucha will be available for tasting, thanks to Humm Kombucha.
Panelists include:
Ali Kaminetsky, Founder & CEO, Modern Picnic: When Ali Kaminetsky graduated from college in 2016 she moved into NYC to start her job in retail. She would bring her lunch to work every day because doing so was so much faster, healthier and cheaper (especially as a recent grad). However, she realized she did not have a chic or functional way to do so. She was resorting to carrying her lunch in paper, plastic or old shopping bags which was neither “cute” nor sustainable. And when she googled “lunchbox” she saw tons of options for little kids, and for men, but nothing for women who wanted to look and feel their best. From there, Modern Picnic was born.
Erica Bryers, Co-founder & CMO, Ora: As a millennial entrepreneur from New Zealand, with a background in fashion and digital marketing, Erica helped found and turn Ora Organic into an industry-leading organic and plant-based nutrition company focused on creating better products for women, men, mothers, and discerning consumers. Erica earned her Fine Arts degree in New Zealand and her Master’s degree in Information Systems in Australia, prior to starting Ora Organic. When she’s not coming up with terrible puns for new product names, Erica can be found reading fantasy books with matcha in hand or dragging everyone to karaoke.
Nick Karwoski, Hydrow Trainer: Nick is a nationally ranked Triathlete and rowing enthusiast. His Hydrow workouts combine a deep knowledge of endurance sports along with years of coaching and training experience. A self-declared "man on the move" Nick knows a thing or two about staying healthy, fueled and motivated whether on the International triathlon circuit, as an entrepreneur (Nick is a Shark Tank alum!), or as someone overcoming health challenges (Nick has open heart surgery in December).
