The University of San Francisco (USF) will award its 2013 USF California Prize for Service and the Common Good to the San Francisco Free Clinic at a gala dinner on Tuesday, Oct. 29 on the USF campus, located in the heart of San Francisco. Doctors Tricia and Richard Gibbs, founders of the Clinic, will be accepting the USF California Prize during the event. USF’s annual prize recognizes individuals or organizations that have made significant advancements or innovations in serving the public and advocating on behalf of underserved populations in California. Focused on community wellness, the San Francisco Free Clinic provides free, accessible medical treatment to those without health insurance, while also advancing the field of primary care by providing educational opportunities for future medical practitioners. Individual tickets are available for $350; proceeds from the dinner benefit USF service-learning programs. Please visit
