General Session: Creating an Audience-First Communications Strategy
Who is your audience? The foundation of every good communications strategy is targeting your audience and knowing how to reach them. Learn more about our highest-potential audiences and what motivates and appeals to them.

Breakout 1: Fundamentals of Design
This session is ideal for the communicator looking to broaden his or her knowledge about design. Learn design principles and how they can be applied to your work, as well as tips on how best to engage with a designer on a new project and how to give effective feedback.
Breakout 2: Managing Conversations on Social Media
Creating social media accounts and publishing content is only the beginning. For a truly effective social marketing program, you need to engage your audience in conversations. This session will outline the value that comes from fostering these conversations, offer some tips on proactively sparking conversations on social media, and offer guidelines and best practices for managing negative or threatening comments.

Breakout 1: Developing Metrics for Digital 
This session will review some of the most common metrics used to report on small marketing and communications programs, using data from Google Analytics, Facebook, Twitter, and other easily available sources, and walk you through creating a simple, easy-to-read dashboard using a free Google product called Data Studio. Attendees will walk away knowing the basics of creating a Data Studio dashboard and a checklist of questions that will help them determine the right metrics to start with.
Breakout 2: Design Thinking
This session will cover the basics of design thinking and how it applies to problem-solving in services, products, or experiences. You’ll walk away with an approachable way to implement design thinking in your daily work.
2:00 - 2:50 p.m.
Breakout 1: Email Newsletters
How can you ensure your audience is reading your e-newsletter? How do you determine what they’re most interested in seeing? Learn content and design/layout best practices for producing a quality e-newsletter.
Breakout 2: Producing Visual Stories with Your iPhone
Want to learn how to take quality video and photos from your iPhone?  This hands-on workshop will provide tools and techniques to help you master visual storytelling using your iPhone.
3:10 - 3:55 p.m.
Afternoon Keynote: Employee Communications & Engagement
Learn strategies and tactics that motivate employees and boost morale, while uniting around our organization's mission and inspiring each of us to be ambassadors of our brand.
4:00 - 5:00 p.m.
