WHY: Proceeds from sponsorships and ticket sales will go toward UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals. The passion and ingenuity found there–and the special sense of urgency that comes from caring for children - has created an extraordinary legacy of striving for breakthroughs. From founding the world’s first fetal surgery program to bringing about North America's first cure of alpha thalassemia major and from establishing one of the world’s first neonatal intensive care units to addressing the social determinants of health - the forces of innovation and compassion course though our hospitals in countless ways. All of these milestones, and the breakthroughs yet to come, are the culmination of a simple, shared passion: helping every child have the chance to star in whatever their story will be. When there isn’t a treatment for a childhood illness, UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals takes the lead in finding one, making it a leader across a wide range of specialties and the top hospital for pediatric cancer care in Northern California. For more than a century, this leadership has continuously redefined what is possible in pediatric health care. For patients’ loved ones, this approach and these accomplishments make UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals a beacon of hope - a place where countless families have learned that if it can be done, it can be done here.
