Ferocious Lotus Theatre Company, with the support of Intersection for the Arts, presents the world premiere of Leah Nanako Winkler’s TWO MILE HOLLOW, directed by Lily Tung Crystal. In this new comedy, we meet the Donnellys: a famous, dysfunctional, Caucasian family who are so obsessed with their own privilege that they don’t know what to make of their son’s ethnically ambiguous assistant who comes to visit. Through the weekend, hilarity ensues as siblings argue over women and motorcycles, a mother creates self-loathing in her gluten-intolerant daughter, and complicated and unique secrets are unveiled over white wine. The twist? The family is played by actors of color. With this unconventional casting, Winkler sends up some of our favorite American plays and helps us see the inherent inequities on stage and in life.
• Opening Night: Monday, June 25 at 8pm—tickets include a post-show reception with complimentary drinks and an opportunity to meet the cast.
• Meet the Playwright: Saturday, June 30—Fireside Chat with Leah Nanako Winkler immediately following the show.
• Meet the Cast and Director: Thursday, June 28 and July 12—Fireside Chat with the cast and director Lily Tung Crystal immediately following the show.
