Two-Day Beginners Shoemaking Course

SEE EVENT DETAILS
Prescott & Mackay runs the Two-Day Beginners Shoemaking Course in Berkeley, USA as a satellite to the London course. We have been traveling to the States for the last 10 years. Shoemaking in the US is always such a pleasure to teach, with great enthusiasm from all of our students who have traveled from as far as Georgia, Ohio and Ontario, Canada to learn the art and craft of shoemaking. Students vary from keen hobbyists to serious business professionals, looking to enter or further a career in the footwear industry.

This two-day shoemaking course is aimed at newcomers to shoemaking, looking to learn the basics. You will study the fundamental techniques of shoemaking allowing you to complete a pair of ladies mules by the end of the session. No better way to dip your toe in and find out if shoemaking is right for you.

Shoemaking patterns are provided and the emphasis is on the making rather than design. You will leave with a much better understanding of what shoemaking entails.

The course price includes specialist shoe components and the use of tools. Shoe lasts are provided for use in the class. You will work with a square-toe, 2 inch heel last.

No previous shoemaking experience is necessary. Class maximum: 8 students.
