The title says it all! "Twisted Hitchcock" is an evening of hilarious and irreverent one-act plays that pay homage to the Master of Suspense himself. For much of his career, Alfred Hitchcock was inspired by San Francisco. And now were going to repay the favor. The suspense, the glamour...the mommy issues. Left Coast Theatre Co. presents an evening of parodies of three of Hitchcock's masterpieces, all with an LGBTQ bent. You'll laugh! You'll scream! There might even be some nudity.
The evening includes:
"Master Bates" by Richard S. Sargent / Directed by Alexia Staniotes
Gay detective Milton stumbles upon the Bates Motel in his search for a missing woman. Due to car troubles, he is forced to stay at the motel overnight. But something doesnt feel right. Why are there no other guests? Why is that owner dude so damn creepy? And why do the eyes on that painting in the bathroom keep moving?
"The Trouble With Mary" by James A. Martin / Directed by Debi Durst
Death comes to a small New England town on a beautiful autumn afternoon. Was it a murder, an accident, or something else? What does the letter in the red envelope say? And perhaps most importantly, where did Mary buy those fabulous shoes?
"Birdsploitation" by Terry Maloney Haley / Directed by Richard Ryan
As five movie extras get ready for their close-up, they realize their kind will yet again be portrayed by Hollywood as psychotic, suicidal menaces to humanity. But these birds are about to queer the system by going off script, and winging it. Whether your idea of fun is a cozy nest & breakfast, or a hardcore feather bar, "Birdsploitation" is for everyone.
Starring: Erica Andracchio, Marc Berman, AJ Davenport, Ellen Dunphy, Ryan Engstrom, Tim Garcia, Dene Larson, Chris Malby and Matt Weimer
Play runs 90 minutes with no intermission. Reserved and General Seating. Box Office opens at 6:15pm. House opens at 6:45. Bar opens at 6:15pm (drinks are allowed in the theater). There is an elevator.
