Meditation & Healthy Habits

Meditation might be our best and healthiest habit for happiness in 2023. In this series of self contained and practical talks, we lay the foundation for developing a healthy habit of meditation so we can make ourselves and others happy. Start the year right. Everyone is always welcome.

Jan 3 - Inner Health Through the Habit of Meditation.
Whenever we meditate, we are performing an action that causes us to experience inner peace in the future. If our mind is peaceful , we will be free from worries and mental discomfort and we will experience true happiness.

Jan 10 - How to Begin: Meditation Techniques.
The first stage of meditation is to stop distractions and make our mind clear and lucid. We can accomplish this by practicing simple breathing meditations.

Jan 17 - Using Karma to Grow Successful Meditation Habits.
Karma explains how we can completely transform ourselves through training our mind. Our mind is malleable; it is neither physical nor a by-product of physical processes, but a formless stream of consciousness that is separate from the body.

Jan 24 - Simple Instructions on How to Meditate.
In this class we will learn and practice how to meditate, how to carry our meditation experience into your daily life, and how to do a personal meditation retreat at home.

Jan 31 - Developing a Habit Plan for Lasting Happiness.
If we wish, we can develop a personal plan for fulfilling our deepest wish for pure and lasting happiness, called enlightenment in Buddhism. With a healthy habit of meditation and a practical structure we can progress to this blissful and beneficial state in this lifetime.
