Transits and the Transcendent Function: The Astrology of Psychological Integration

The intergration circle is very happy to host our dear friend and esteemed colleague, Rebecca Farra, M.A. and astrolger (aka Wild Witch of the West), for her fascinating talk "Transits and the Transcendent Function: The Astrology of Psychological Integration" . The archetypes of the psyche surround us in the cosmos and also offer a possible pathway for understanding our own integration process. In many ways, astrology bridges our current understanding with that which is still unconscious. In psychology, this tension between conscious and unconscious in attempting union is the transcendent function. This psychic and unpredictable process speaks to our evolution as a collective and individuals and therefore a transition between states and attitudes, as Jung describes. While this mysterious and irrational progression of self may not be predictable; however, using astrology transits, we can find patterns or possibilities for this internal union.
