Traditional Herbalism with a side of Cannabis

Velvet Beauty Apothecary invites you to a very special class with Velvet Owner Rachel Helzer and Urban Pharm Budtender, California Herbalist and Social Justice Advocate Teagen Reyer!
Teagen runs "Radical Herbal Remedies" which offers a wide variety of herbal services. In this hands on class Teagen and Rachel will guide us through an introduction of traditional medicinal plants and flowers many of us already have in our kitchens and gardens! After covering the bases we will begin to explore how cannabis can be used to elevate traditional herbal remedies. We will talk about smokable herbs- leaves that can be smoked to induce an alternate state of mind. Psychoactive plants, often called cannabis alternatives or legal highs, are used in a huge variety of herbal blends. Teas, tinctures, topicals and more will be discussed and sampled.
The plants discussed in class are well known herbs used in remedies as stimulants, depressants, anti-psychotics, and hallucinogens. These herbs may help you quit smoking, lose weight or simply relax after a hard day. We will touch on the many different ways to enjoy your herbs.
Upon completion of this class you will have a basic understanding of traditional herbalism and how you can benefit from many forms of cannabis. *You may leave class with a special blend of herbs that you get to customize for yourself to serve your unique wants and needs.
