Tom Liggett on how to Prune, Train and Tie Rose Plants

Come out to hear Tom Liggett, rosarian, talk about his unique techniques of pruning, training and tying rose plants. Liggett has been internationally recognized as a horticulturist. He founded the second-largest public rose garden in the world and served as chief rosarian for another large garden. Tom operates the last working farm in downtown San Jose. He grows food for his family and the neighborhood. Tom is conducting ongoing research projects on roses, long stem cut flowers other than roses, lettuce and melons.

Tom Liggett has been publishing his work since 1966. He is also an avid music lover. He has played in two bagpipe bands and a symphony orchestra. He is an award-winning amateur actor and orator. His book, "How to Prune, Train and Tie Rose Plants," will be available in our raffle.

Tom currently lives in San Jose, California.
