The Robby Paine Foundation is hosting its third annual San Jose Derby, an occasion for Silicon Valley residents to don their favorite hats and festive attire, enjoy fine cuisine, live music and sip delicious drinks while celebrating one of the season’s most anticipated events, the 143rd Run for the Roses. The event will take place on Saturday, May 6, from 1 to 5 p.m. under a large tent on the Mulcahy Grounds located behind Aqui restaurant and the Garden Theatre on Lincoln Avenue in downtown Willow Glen.
Tickets – a portion of which is tax-deductible – can be purchased online at SanJoseDerby.com and include admission to the San Jose Derby, live music, southern specialty cocktails; delectable food, beer and wine; and of course, an opportunity to participate in the always-lively and entertaining hat competitions judged on “best hat for woman” and “best derby outfit for man and woman.” Tax-deductible sponsorships are also available.
All proceeds benefit the Robby Paine Foundation, which supports organizations that shaped Robby Paine’s life and giving spirit: the Willow Glen Foundation, Young Life’s Woodleaf Camp and an endowment fund at Chico State University awarding scholarships to students in the Department of Recreation, Hospitality and Parks Management.
