Noise Pop: Buzz Bands, Big Beats and No Sleep
For live music fans, it's another marathon week as Noise Pop fills venues throughout San Francisco with live bands, producers and DJs. There are plenty of highlights to look forward to, including buzz band White Arrows, a special DJ set from Amon Tobin and Ceremony with local fuzz rockers Terry Malts. Elsewhere, Petty Fest pays tribute to Tom Petty and the Take Action Tour stops at the Fillmore with The Used and Crown The Empire to raise awareness for LGBT support group, It Gets Better Project. Sip & Shop pairs good shopping and discounts with music and cocktails, while a Pier Crabbing Demonstration provides a tutorial on how to tap into San Francisco's tasty Dungeness crab population. Barbary Coast Burlesque takes the stage at Yoshi's and local author Dave Eggers visits the San Francisco Day School with Gary Shtyngart.
