The Wisdom of Caring

SEE EVENT DETAILS
"When we think of how rare it is for human beings to discover the depths of caring, it will better help us recognize how precious our own opportunity is. Are we up for the task? What we learn about caring is not for our sake alone (caring 53). We can't always help others, but at least we can guarantee our own well-being at a very deep level-the kind of well-being that can help us weather the storms and work more creatively with the hardship we experience... More than that-we stand a chance of helping other people learn the same thing (Caring 55).

This six week course works with the the main teachings of Tarthang Tulku's latest book, Caring. It shows us how caring can ease our hearts, strengthen our spirits, and transform our sense of what is possible. The goal of this course will be to learn how to tap into and express our own capacities for caring in order to improve our ability to help ourselves and others in meaningful ways. This class will be taught by two experienced medical practitioners, Dr Bob Dozor and Dr Richard Kingsland with over 65 years of combined medical and healing attention for others. This class is open for all and does not require any pre-requisites. This course will be using the Caring text throughout the class and would encourage all students to purchase from our Lotus Bookstore or from Dharma Publishing.
