Are you interested in the natural history of Santa Cruz? Are you looking for opportunities to learn about and experience the natural world while meeting people with the same interests? This new and innovative workshop series will offer an opportunity for adults, ages 50+ to lean about the ways of nature while discovering our caretaking role within it. Learn about local geology, biology, botany, ecology, zoology and astronomy through guest speaker’s presentations; also enjoying hikes, microscope viewing, mapping, species surveys, arts and crafts and more in this engaging and informative 7-day program. Guest speakers this session include:
~ Todd Newberry, professor emeritus of ecology and evolutionary biology, USCS; author of The Ardent Birder
~ Jodi McGraw, sandhills ecologist and author of The Sandhills Conservation and Management Plan
~ Ken Moore, founder of Wildlands Restoration Team and invasive weed presenter
~ Mark Ryan, associate professor of geology, SJSU
~ Lindy Patania, Quail Hollow volunteer and reptile presenter
