The Village Matters is the annual youth showcase of Dimensions Dance Theater, featuring performances by participants of Dimensions' Rites of Passage youth program with students ages 8 to 18, joined by members of Dimension's elite youth company Dimensions Extensions and its flagship adult dance company. Eight other youth dance companies from around the Bay Area will perform: LIKHA School of Philippine Dance, On Demand, BAY-Peace, Oakland Technical High School, Oakland High School, Bret Harte Middle School and Kipp Bridge Academy. Finally, the program will also feature guest artists Destiny Muhammad, "Harpist from the Hood," and the samba reggae group Batala San Francisco.
