The Taste of Santa Clara Dinner

SEE EVENT DETAILS
“First Annual Taste of Santa Clara Valley Farm to Table Dinner Celebrates Farmers and
Local Food”

The Community Alliance with Family Farmers (CAFF) will host a farm to table
fundraising dinner: “The Taste of Santa Clara Valley” on Sunday, September 14, 2014 at
Guglielmo Winery in Morgan Hill, CA. The catered dinner will highlight produce from
Santa Clara and San Benito County farmers, with proceeds benefiting CAFF’s program
work. A portion of all ticket sales will allow farmers to attend the event, who will be
sharing their personal stories about farming in the region. “This is a wonderful
opportunity to meet the growers who provide produce at local farmers markets and
grocery stores,” stated CAFF’s Executive Director, Diane Del Signore. For tickets or
information regarding the event, please visit http://caff.org/news-andevents/
fundraisers/tastescv2014/.
The dinner will showcase the exquisite creations of chef Nicolai Tuban from Bon Appétit
Management Company, who serves as Executive Chef at Altera. As a culinary artist who
is “passionate about innovative combinations of international flavors,” Nicolai invented a
style that he playfully calls “contemporary global mouth jazz.”
The dinner will take place at the beautiful estate of Guglielmo Winery in Morgan Hill --
a third generation, family owned winery, which has produced a wide variety of awardwinning
varietals since 1925. Guests will be able to enjoy the venue’s wine, as well as
live music, a raffle, and a chance to bid on local farm tours.
The Taste of Santa Clara Valley is part of Local Food Month, which is taking place in
Santa Clara County for the first time this September. Please visit http://caff.org/newsand-
events/lfm/ for more information about this month-long series of events that
celebrate local agriculture.
Agriculture is a part of Santa Clara Valley's history, and is also an essential element of
the region’s future development and sustainability. Please join us at this event, to
support the farmers who represent the agricultural heritage of the region. To share the
