'The Speakeasy' recreates an authentic Prohibition-era club, complete with illicit bar, crooked casino and back room cabaret. Inside its maze of subterranean rooms unfolds a fully immersive theatrical experience involving more than 35 actors, chorus girls and croupiers, busboys and bouncers, and a host of vaudeville acts.

'The Speakeasy' continues in an open-ended run with new blocks of dates going on sale each month.

Location: A discreet location in the heart of San Francisco where North Beach and Chinatown meet

"The secret's out: 'The Speakeasy' is an intoxicating delight." -- SF Chronicle

"Impressive...and undeniably fun." -- SFist

------

Walk down a cobblestone alley, descend the steps of the darkened stairwell and slip past the old man holding a pipe through a grandfather clock and enter a decadent 1920’s jazz nightclub from a bygone era. Set during the throes of prohibition, you’ll be pulled into unique storylines and one-on-one’s as well as observe the lives of 35 different characters. Spanning 7 rooms, 1500 pages, and over 14 hours of material happening simultaneously during a 3.5 hour evening that never repeats, you’ll decide your own path in this “choose-your-own-adventure” immersive theatrical experience.

There is a dress code, which is strictly enforced on Saturday and optional on all other performances. However, we encourage all of our patrons to dress up no matter what date they are attending to be fully immersed in the fun. 1920’s apparel is preferred, and cocktail attire is also acceptable. Cocktail attire includes a button down collared shirt and tie with slacks and dress shoes; or cocktail style dresses and dress shoes. Tennis shoes, yoga pants, T-shirts, denim, or other casual clothes are not considered acceptable on Saturday evenings. Patrons who are dressed up are more likely to be chosen for audience interaction.

Costumes and accessories are available for rent and purchase. See our costume rental page - https://www.thespeakeasysf.com/general-costume-rentals/ .

You’ll receive further instructions the night before your visit at 5PM. What we can say, is that it is somewhere in a discreet location where North Beach and Chinatown coalesce.
