The Sound of Bed-Stuy Oakland Premiere & After Party

The Sound of Bed-Stuy is a short documentary shedding light on Sound System culture in New York through the lens of Dub-Stuy, a local music collective. Shot during the latter part of the pandemic, the film focuses on key members of the crew as they plan an outdoor event using their sound system as a microphone for the community. The film features interviews with Dub-Stuy founder Q-Mastah and artists Hilla Bundem, JonnyGo Figure and Blakkamoore. In addition to the Bay Area event, screenings of the documentary will also take place in New York, Austin, and Los Angeles.
