Frances Hodgson Burnett's delightful novel springs to life in a soaring musical about the healing power of love, created by Pulitzer-winning author-lyricist Marsha Norman and Grammy-winning composer Lucy Simon. This classic tale weaves mystery, magic, and a melodic score into the quest of an orphaned English girl to revive a once magnificent Victorian garden.
The cast will be led by Katie Maupin as “Mary Lennox” and Brian Watson as “Archibald Craven”, both making their 42nd Street Moon debuts. The Company also features Edward Hightower* as “Neville Craven,” Tyler Groshong as “Colin,” Sharon Rietkerk* as “Lily,” Keith Pinto* as “Dickon” and Heather Orth as “Martha,” as well as Amanda Johnson*, Ryan Lee Henry, Scott Hayes, Michael Mohammed, Lucinda Hitchcock Cone*, Corinne Rydman (42nd Street Moon debut), Terry McLaughlin (42nd Street Moon debut) and Anjali Blacker. The Secret Garden runs from December 6 - 24, 2017 and will perform at the Gateway Theatre (formerly the Eureka Theatre). The press opening will take place on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 6:00 p.m.
42nd Street Moon’s production of The Secret Garden will feature an all-female creative team, in honor and celebration of the musical’s authors Marsha Norman and Lucy Simon. The production will be directed by Dyan McBride (42nd Street Moon’s Holiday hit Scrooge in Love!), with musical direction by Lauren Mayer and choreography by Robyn Tribuzi (making her 42nd Street Moon debut).
