The Science of Whiskey Seminar

SEE EVENT DETAILS
You love whiskey. We love whiskey. Our bar is dedicated to whiskey. But to understand it, we must meet, talk and drink. And so Elixir is proud to bring you a series of tastings (disguised as seminars) called: Elixir Whiskey Sessions
Session 1: THE SCIENCE OF WHISKEY
We are proud to introduce our first "visiting professor": Professor Eric Simanek of Texas Christian University
Eric will present “Shots of Knowledge: The Science of Whiskey” based on his book of the same name published in 2016 (available on Amazon).  Born in central Illinois in fields of corn destined to become feed or alcohol, Eric attended the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign taking a BS in Chemistry in 1991 before pursuing PhD work at Harvard. After a post-doctoral stint at The Scripps Research Institute from 1996-1998, he joined the faculty of Texas A&M University where he remained for 12 years. He moved to TCU in 2010. Whiskey represents a recent interest and he enjoys writing about it and teaching it almost as much as drinking it.
We will pour a selection of 6 various whiskey samples to go with the lessons.
15 seats only! Come early for our weekly Elixir Cocktail Club tasting (featured brand TBD - monitor @ElixirSF on Instagram and Twitter for an announcement).
21 and Over only

Coauthors Rob Arnold & Eric Simanek
