If you've ever dreamt of pulling a fragrant, crusty, naturally-leavened sourdough loaf from your home oven, this class is for you. We'll discuss starter care and maintenance and then gain practice scaling ingredients, mixing by hand and developing dough strength over a series of stretch and folds. You'll learn the techniques for shaping, scoring and baking artisan quality bread, as well as tips for maintaining your sourdough starter. Everyone will go home with a professional quality banneton -bread proofing basket- and the bread dough that we develop in class, ready to bake at home the next day. We'll share a warm loaf straight from the oven, plus a sampling of cheese and olives... the perfect end to a sourdough day. BYOB or wine and beer available for purchase.
