The Oakland Magic Circle Presents
The 93rd Annual Installation Banquet and Show
For the 93rd year the Oakland Magic Circle presents a gala stage show and dinner.
A rising star, Kayla Drescher will be the headline act with her "Magic in Heels."
Ms. Drescher offers her impossible feats with plenty of humor and audience participation. One of the few professional female prestidigitators Kayla earned a college degree in Environmental Science but after a few years working in the field decided that conjuring which started as a hobby at 7-years-old, was how she could be happy while entertaining audiences.
Kayla was the winner of David Copperfield's "Search for the Next Great Magician" on NBC's "The Today Show" and has won numerous other competitions. Based in Los Angeles she performs all over the nation in theaters and at corporate events. She recently "wowed the boys" while appearing on Penn & Teller's "Fool US."
Opening the show will be the bay area's Alan Leeds, 2017 winner of the Oakland Magic Circle's Northern California Stage Magic Competition, his most recent of many awards. Leeds started amazing people at 10-years-old and now performs his wizardry professionally and is also a popular motivational speaker.
The evening features the incoming OMC President Doug Eakin as our miraculous Master of Ceremonies.
The show is appropriate for all ages.
Doors open at 6:00pm for a social hour with close-up magic. Dinner at 7:00 offers Tri-Tip Beef, Baked Chicken Breast, Salmon or Vegetarian with salad, vegetables, hand-dipped chocolate cookies and a choice of beverage. The Stage Show starts at 8:00.
