The Nightingale Trio is an all-female vocal arts group inspired by traditional folk songs and vocal techniques from the Balkans and Eastern Europe. Featuring three recent Yale graduates, this trio manages to sound fuller than an average trio, yet still maintain the intimate, tight harmonies of a traditional family band. They are dedicated to recreating the rhythmic, complex, and stunning folk songs that span centuries of Slavic artistic culture, yet also strive to expand the boundaries of traditional folk songs by bringing their own unique forms of expression and creativity to this dynamic and ever-evolving art form.
