Chamber music series The Musical Odyssey presents the final concert of its third season, Dances From Around the World featuring founder and director; pianist Irina Behrendt and pianist Amy Zanrosso in a program of music for four-hand piano.
Focusing on dance-inspired music by a variety of composers, Amy and Irina will lead you through Debussy’s take on a delicate minuet and an energetic ballet scene followed by foot stomping Brahms Hungarian dances and Slavonik Dances by Dvorak. A diabolical waltz and an even more diabolical tarantella by Gavrilin will whisk the previous dancers out of the room, making space for a sultry malague?a and habanera by Ravel as well as a rhythmic tango by Barber. Add to this one very famous Sabre Dance by Khatchaturian and you have a memorable musical afternoon of rhythms, styles and cultures from around the globe.
