The Merry Wives of Windsor, Outdoors in Berkeley

SEE EVENT DETAILS
Celebrate Actors Ensemble of Berkeley and wish long-time board member and jack-of-all trades Bob Gudmundsson bon-voyage as he and his wife embark on a new life in Southern California, with a party and a free (donations accepted) pop-up performance of The Merry Wives of Windsor by William Shakespeare. Join us as a performer, partier, or just enjoy the show. We intend to announce some additional details about some cool new projects for the Fall of 2019 and Winter of 2020.

As some of you know, John Hinkel Park, our normal location for our Summer Season, will be closed this summer for renovations. However, we have made special arrangements with the City of Berkeley for this one-day-only performance/party, just before the renovations commence.

Show starts at 4 p.m., at the John Hinkel Park Amphitheatre, 41 Somerset Pl., Berkeley, 94709, off Arlington and Southampton, just north of the Marin Circle. It's easy to get to via public transit, there is a bus that stops at Southampton and Arlington that goes straight from Downtown Berkeley. There will be one intermisson with the usual hot dogs, veggie dogs, and corn-on-the-cob available. We expect the show to last a little over two hours including the intermission. Portable restrooms available. Thanks to Denise Brown, Wendy Wellbrok, and Terri Vargas of the City of Berkeley for helping to make this performance possible.

The amphitheatre consists of a series of stone terraces, bring blankets, pillows, and/or low lawnchairs. Street parking available along Somerset, Southampton, and Arlington.

We have a wonderful cast featuring many of your favorites from over the years. The performance will be in the form of a staged reading. Free-of-charge, donations accepted.
