The Magic of Behavior Change with Kelvin Kwong, VP of Product at Big Health

SEE EVENT DETAILS
at Pivotal Labs (see times)
About the Event The decisions that we make in a given day are driven by numerous cognitive biases designed to save us time and energy. Often, these mental shortcuts serve us well, but occasionally, they lead us astray and drive us to make poor decisions — and this is particularly true about our health. Kelvin Kwong will discuss the psychology behind decision making and how he has applied behavioral science research to build products at Jawbone and at Big Health to make us healthier and happier.
About the Speaker Kelvin Kwong is the VP of Product Management at Big Health, a maker of evidence-based digital behavioral medicine programs. He brings learnings from behavioral science to build experiences to help people sleep better, feel happier, and worry less. Prior to Big Health, Kelvin led behavior change efforts at Jawbone, creator of the UP fitness tracker system. While Kelvin's passion is in wellness, he has applied his studies of human behavior across the spectrum. Kelvin was previously at Amazon, was an investor, and was a professional magician for nearly a decade -- and no, we’re not playing two truths and a lie. Engineer by training, Kelvin attended the University of Pennsylvania and Harvard Business School. You can find him on twitter @kelvinskwong.
Meetup Agenda 6-7 pm: Check-in, dinner (not pizza!) and networking 7-8 pm: Talk plus Q&A 8-8:30 pm: Networking
