Animal Trainer bio:

It has always been the great artist duos that really turned the wheels of cultural history: Ying and Yang, Laurel and Hardy, Siegfried and Roy. The latter’s connection to ANIMAL TRAINER definitely can’t be denied. While Siegfried and Roy might be taming white tigers though, ANIMAL TRAINER are specialising in black vinyl and the dancing crowd.

Both children of the illustrious nightlife of trend capital Zurich, Adrian Flavor and Samy Jackson have made a name for themselves with their Rakete parties, held mostly at their home base, the chic Hive club, as well as many other locations in and around Switzerland. Meanwhile, the rest of the world has also been infected with the animal fever, aided by the book- ing agencies Jackmode and Stil vor Talent: whether it’s Watergate, Studio 80, Kater Holzig, Prater Sauna, Lightbox or Rote Sonne, no European top club can escape the paws of the Swiss boys and they have even been sighted regularly in more exotic locations like Thailand’s Thaibreak or Brazil’s D-Edge and Warung Beach. No matter where, whenever people talk about a set of the two turntable wizards, they excitedly speak of the moment ‘it’ happened. ‘Cos ANIMAL TRAINER have a talent to play music that inspires and leads electronic trends, rather than follows them. Added to this, they are famous for their love of the party, frequently being the last to leave the club.

As dedicated music lovers and passionate entertainers, it was a natural progression for the duo to channel their constant appetite for music and endless partying into their own sounds. Thus, their first baby steps were released on Stil vor Tal- ent in the form of ‘Talkshow’ in 2008. Since then, ANIMAL TRAINER have had releases on other renowned labels such as Poker Flat, Katermukke, Off Recordings, Dantze, as well as their own Hive Audio, on which they always strike a remarkable balance between tight grooves, infectious hooks and a whole lot of L.O.V.E.. Where other producers might rest on a well- tested formula, Adrian and Samy focus on remaining versatile, just like when DJing. Hence, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that lately the atmospheric ‘Pirate Games’ rubbed shoulders with peak time bomb ‘Krambambuli’ – perhaps even in one of their DJ sets. In 2014 the duo is set to release their debut album ‘Wide’ on SVT, which promises to be a tour de force of modern house music. Wild animals aren’t easy to tame after all, and in ANIMAL TRAINER’s case, that’s great news!

The Revenge bio:

After fifteen years of curating and cultivating quality music, 2015 will be a crucial year in The Revenge’s musical odyssey as he releases his longawaited debut album ‘Love That Will Not Die’ on his own imprint Roar Groove. This full length format truly allows the producer to showcase every side of his sonic psyche, rewarding the listener with an epic journey through a mix of styles and ambience. From a heavy nod to the nascent days of electronic music, to the exploration of varying drum patterns and abundant percussion with a modern house feeling, this LP provides the sound The Revenge is traditionally famed for whilst still displaying innovative, progressive style and composition.

Of course, his precocious skillset doesn’t stop there. Variety is the spice of life, and from tracks that defined the nudisco movement around the end of last decade (his collaboration with Craig Smith’s ‘The Soul Part II’ in 2009) to EPs such as ‘Body Fusion’ and ‘Incredible Shellsuit’, both on his newest successful imprint ‘Roar Groove’, Clark’s bountiful career has seen him release on an abundance of illustrious labels. These include his own DFA, also Pokerflat, Needwant, My Favorite Robot and his own former imprint the much admired Instruments Of Rapture, making him a sine qua non in any aficionado’s record collection.

He’s also known for his seamless collaborations and the new album even includes an inspired pairing with 70s disco icons Sister Sledge. Though surprising at first, this makes perfect sense, as both outfits have a similar musical ethos – making tracks that remain timeless thanks to the emotion rooted within them. Also featured on the LP is Jesse Rennix. Having worked together on previous releases, Rennix’ vocals and the Revenge’s signature style come together in a hypnotic yet powerful cut.

He also boasts a strong reputation for deep, dark and twisted killer DJ sets. Whether home, as a firm favourite at Glasgow’s iconic Sub Club, or away, be it Tresor (Berlin), Sankeys (Manchester), Lola Club (Shanghai), Space (Ibiza), Panther Room (NYC), he provides charismatic live performances, with a deft skill for reading a room just right and filling a dancefloor.

His back catalogue of successes and now his debut LP of uptempo house and disco fusion display the producer’s skill for cherry picking every key and sample he uses with the precision his listeners anticipate from him. This promises to be another spectacular year for The Revenge as he continues to pave the way for musical exploration and versatility.
