“The foundation of humanity is to share in moments of collective joy and moments of collective pain” - Brene Brown
Are you feeling upset, overwhelmed or emotional about recent events and news coverage? You are not alone. Over the past few weeks many have felt anger, sadness, disgust, overwhelm, and many other emotions triggered by Christine Blasey Ford's testimony of sexual assault and Brett Kavanaugh's subsequent confirmation hearings this weekend.
Many of us feel excited to share in moments of collective joy yet are inclined to retreat from our community when we are in pain or feeling anger or despair. We believe each of these moments is an opportunity, an opportunity to share in collective pain, an opportunity to deepen intimacy by supporting each other, an opportunity to weave a richer texture into the fabric of what it means for each of us to experience being human.
ABOUT THE EVENTThis FREE event is a safe space to share what you've been feeling and to be witnessed and believed by members of both sexes. We'll have time for open conversation as well as guided exercises to release emotion and to create a foundation for healing.
The event is also an opportunity for people who believe these conversations are important to show their support and to hear different perspectives to inform their own. Our goal is to create a grounded and loving environment free from judgement for sharing and holding space with a balanced number of people who identify as men and those who identify as women.
We have space for 40 people so please share with those who could benefit.
Thank you to The Center SF for offering to host this event for free in service to the community.
